Hilltop Restaurant

The Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (TTHTI) has been training upcoming professionals in the Hospitality and Tourism industry for a number of years. Of all the programmes being offered at the Institute, the area of Culinary Arts has traditionally been the most popular. TTHTI is proud of its reputation to showcase excellence, not only in the level of theoretical instruction, but also in practical training. The Hilltop Restaurant was developed to serve as the primary practical training space for the Culinary and Food and Beverage courses at the Institute, and offers customers a memorable dining experience that should not be missed. The variety of meals served reflects both à la carte and table d’hôte menus – prepared with an exciting and mouth-watering fusion of fresh and indigenous Caribbean herbs and spices blended with the finest international ingredients, executed and presented by our very own Culinary and Food and Beverage students. Our menus showcase cuisines from various countries and cultures that include exquisite creations that are affordably priced. We also offer an extensive wine listing from which patrons may choose. The Hilltop Bar offers delicious cocktails, wines and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with a ‘special of the day’ prepared by our bartender to compliment your choice of food. You will also be able to enjoy our Students’ Signature drinks, both cocktails and mocktails. At Hilltop you will always be delighted by our combination of impeccable service and sensational food and drinks – so allow yourself to be transported into an amazing world of unique dining experiences. The Restaurant is open to the public while the Institute’s semesters are in progress and interested persons are invited to contact the Institute to make reservations and for information about the days and times of dining.

We welcome students to our residential facilities. Our dormitories, (two on-campus halls of residence), are modest student accommodation (available to full time female students only) housing up to forty-nine (49) persons. These are offered firstly to international and regional students and students residing in Tobago. The facility is then offered to persons residing in the furthest locations in Trinidad. Accommodation is offered in single, double, triple and quadruple room configurations at varying rates and can be requested from the Student Services Department.

Students who reside on the dorms are required to perform chores that assist with the upkeep of the residence. They are also required to adhere to the rules and regulations as laid out in the Accommodations handbook provided to them when they move into the dorms. The House Mother and Student Services Manager oversee the adherence to these rules and regulations.

Applying for Housing

After application to the Institute, students are required to go through the interview process, during which those requiring accommodation should complete the ‘Request for On-Campus Accommodation' form which is to be submitted to the Student Services Department. Applicants from outside Trinidad and the furthest parts of Trinidad are given first preference for accommodation (based on priority). Students who have been accepted for On-Campus accommodations are notified approximately 2 weeks prior to the start of the new academic year.

Should there be space available after the acceptance of the priority students, consideration is given to other applicants, again based on distance from the Institute and also, the date of application.
